And the plain ridiculous!
Two 65 year old men wheeled the body of a dead man in an office chair through the streets of the Big Apple recently - in a useless attempt to cash his Social Security cheque. The two veterans pushed the body from their Manhattan apartment to the Pay-O-Matic store a block away.
Witnesses claimed they saw the two men pushing the chair with the dead man flopping from side to side and the accused trying to prop him up, a police spokesman reported.
They left the dead man in the chair outside the store and went inside to cash his US$355 cheque. The clerk who knew the dead man asked his whereabouts, and one of the accused said he would get him.
However, the inevitable,a detective who was dining at a restaurant next door noticed a crowd forming around the body of the dead man in the chair, stated later it was immediately apparent that the man was dead!
The detective called New York police officers who arrived with medics as the two accused were in the process of wheeling the dead man into the cheque- cashing store.
The two men were arrested. However the dead man appeared to have died of natural causes.
