Catholic Church compensates abuse victims...

The Catholic Church in Los Angeles compensates abuse victims...

Their credibility is really wearing thin. On the eve of serious court action the church has come up with a decision to compensate more than 500 people who allege abuse by Catholic clergy. The deal is claimed to be worth US$660 million. This would be the biggest payout by the church in history. It is believed that substantial property will have to be sold to raise the money.

Why does it take court action to bring the church to the party? The church is riddled with abuse claims from one end of the planet to the other. What next?
