Bainimarama still try's to justify the military coup in Fiji...

Commodore Bainimarama, head of Fiji's defence force and self appointed prime minister since the military coup, is quick to condemn New Zealand and Australia's continuing criticism of the coup and the failure to set a definate date for a new election. He accuses the Australasian Governments of failing to understand the reason and need to eliminate the corrupt regime of the former Fijian prime minister, Qarase.
In my opinion Bainimarama is just another despot who can't control his troops once a military takeover is in place. Just consider the beginning of the following news release, and come to your own conclusion:
Three members of Fiji's rugby sevens squad are among eight soldiers and one policeman hauled off a plane and charged with the fatal bashing of a youth in January of this year.
The three have all played in the Wellington Sevens (in New Zealand), though not in this year's tournament, which occurred three weeks after Sakiusa Rabaka, 19 years, was fatally assaulted by soldiers.
His was the second civilian death at the hand of soldiers after Commodore Bainimarama's coup.
The nine men were on a United Nations - chartered Air Egypt plane on the ground at Nadi, about to leave for service as peacekeepers in Iraq.
New Zealand and Australia tried to prevent the UN using Fijian peacekeepers.
Early this year, Mr Rabaka's parents told of how he had been beaten like an animal." If you speak out, you get taken in for questioning,"Mr Rabaka said." We can't get justice. We are helpless".
What threat is a teenage boy to the Bainimarama regime? Bainimarama is unable to control his army of bullies who behave just like those in Zimbabwe. I hold them all in contempt!
