Give birth to a patriot and win prizes in Russia...

A Russian region known best as the birthplace of Vladimir Lenin, has found a novel way to fight the nation's declining birthrate - it has declared September 12 as the 'Day of Conception'. Couples will be given the day off work to procreate!

Couples in Ulyanovsk Oblast, about 900km east of Moscow, who 'give birth to a patriot' during the festivities will win cash, cars, refrigerators, and other prizes.
