It must have been some kiss - it deafened her...
CHINA - A young woman was left partially deaf following a kiss from her boyfriend, the BBC reports.
The incident prompted a series of articles in local media warning of the dangers of excessive kissing.
"While kissing is normally very safe, doctors advise people to proceed with caution," wrote the China Daily.
Said the Shanghai Daily: "A strong kiss may cause an imbalance in the air pressure between two inner ears and lead to a broken ear drum."
A doctor who treated the girl in hospital explained that the kiss reduced the pressure in her mouth, pulling out the eardrum and causing the breakdown of her ear.
She is expected to regain full hearing within about two months.
