NZ Warriors NRL franchise has a new coach...
The new NZ Warriors coach will begin his work in September but he could spend a fair bit of his time chained to a desk initially.
Brian McClennan has been appointed to a two-year deal with the club, ending weeks of ducking and weaving around the worst kept secret in league.
If you listened to Brian McClennan speaking to Radio Sport breakfast host Tony Veitch, you will have learned what he is bringing back to the NZ Warriors.
CEO Wayne Scurrah says McClennan will need to adjust to what the club's about first up.
He says McClennan will spend his initial period planning and learning about the club commercially.
Former Warriors captain Monty Betham is applauding the decision to appoint McClennan as coach from next season.
Listen to former Warriors skipper Monty Betham speaking to reporter Elliott Smith.
Betham says McClennan has the nous to take the team to the top.
You could have listened in to former Kiwis coach Graham Lowe giving announcer D'Arcy Waldegrave his opinion on McClennan's appointment.
