Socceroos trying to steal Ricki Herbert?
Phar Lap, Crowded House, Pavlova and Robbie Deans - now the Aussies may try to steal All Whites coach Ricki Herbert.
The Australians are trying to steal yet another kiwi success.
Former Socceroos coach Rale Rasic wants Football Federation Australia to wave its cheque book under the nose of All Whites coach Ricki Herbert. He says Herbert is the ideal man for the job after the heroics of the New Zealand team at the World Cup in South Africa.
Cameroon coach Paul Le Guen is reportedly the favourite for the role, but Rasic insists there is no-one who can serve Australia better than Herbert. He says Herbert knows how to lead his professional players.
The Socceroos current coach Pim Verbeek is set to step down after the World Cup.
